AI-Native CRM Platform

The work behind the deal, tracked where the deal lives.

Alatasks is the work tracker inside Alano CRM. Tasks carry sub-tasks, roll up into epics and sprints, and stay linked to the customer, contact or deal they came from. It also runs on its own at alatasks.com for teams who only want the tracker.

What it does

  • Sub-tasks that roll up: Add a sub-task inline with a title, an assignee and a due date, or open the full editor for description, status and priority. The parent task shows the count and the percentage — 2/5, 40% — so a task with five moving parts reads as one line until you need the detail.
  • Epics and sprints, without a second tool: Epics group work that spans weeks, with Backlog, Active, Done and Archived states and four priority levels. Sprints carry a goal and a date range, move through Planned, Active and Closed, and show up as a timeline or a grid. Every task can sit in one of each.
  • Attached to the record it came from: A task links to a customer, and through that customer to its related contacts and deals. Open the account and the work outstanding against it is already there — no separate project tool holding half the context.
  • Discussion stays on the task: Post an update on a task and @mention a teammate by name or email. They are notified, and replies thread under the update rather than scattering across chat. Visibility is controllable too: restrict a task and its sub-tasks from named users or groups, and inherit restrictions that cascade down from its epic or sprint.
  • The views and filters behind the board: The board is one of three. Split view keeps the list on the left and the open task on the right; the table view puts every field in columns with inline editing. All three read the same filters — status, priority, epic, sprint, assignee and creator, plus a custom-field filter — and sort by due date and priority, newest, or last update.

Common questions

Can I assign one task to more than one person?

A task takes one assignee, which can be either a user or a group. To put a task in front of several people, create a group and assign that — the search shows users and groups together, each badged.

What is the difference between an epic and a sprint?

An epic groups related work by theme and rolls up its completion percentage; it has Backlog, Active, Done and Archived states. A sprint groups work by time — a goal plus a start and end date — and moves through Planned, Active and Closed. A task can belong to one of each.

Can I hide a task from part of the team?

Yes. From the task's Admin tab, restrict access for named users or groups; the restriction covers its sub-tasks too. Restrictions also cascade from the linked epic or sprint, and inherited ones are labelled with where they came from.

Do I need the full CRM to use Alatasks?

No. alatasks.com runs the tracker on its own domain with the same account and organisation. Teams that later want contacts, deals and pipeline get them without moving their tasks.
